Shutting down RCTV station, is a step toward Real democracy

The RCTV station went off air on 27th  of May 2007, as their license were expired.  president Hugo Chavez sent a message, to those who were protesting against his decision on shutting down this TV station.

say what they say do what they do, the licence will not be renewed. These were the words of Venezuelas president Hugo Chavez to the protestors, and to those who criticised the government for not renewing the licence for RCTV, (Radio Caracas TV station).

Since then the rightwing press around the world have been criticising president Chavez, and the democratic government of Venezuela.  the propaganda is that, the government is censoring the media, and  there is no longer freedom of press in Venezuela. I would approach the question, freedom of press who for !?

RCTV  station is a private owned TV station in Venezuela. who backed the illegal military coup in 2002, against the democratically elected government of Venezuela. They didn’tt just back the illegal coup, they were active encouraging people to the streets to overthrow the democratically elected president through political violence, and they still do.

They created a brutal violence among the people, spread lies that pro-Chavez supporters were shooting on unarmed civilians and finally after the coup, they read out a fake resignation letter from Hugo Chavez.

In Venezuela 95% of the media are opposition to president Chavez . This clearly show that, the none renewal license for RCTV station , is not because they are the opposition, but its because they are encouraging political violence against the democratic government of Venezuela.

After the military coup , against democratically elected president. Government was set ,that was backed by America. The world have seen the brutality of that government against Venezuelan’s people, which this TV station backed.

In what country in the world a TV station like RCTV  will have their licence to broadcast lies and propaganda against democracy?

In Venezuela the 95% of the media are opposition to president Chavez including five privately owned TV channels controlling 90% of the market in that country. All of the country's 118 newspaper companies, both regional and national, are held in private hands, as are 706 out of 709  radio stations.

This means there is no censorship what so ever in Venezuela . I think President Chavez is the most democratic president , and Venezuela’s government are the most democratic government, than all the forms of governments around the world. More than those who are criticising this democratically elected government that is the government of the people. therefore shutting down this TV station or any similar TV station like RCTV in any country in the world. I think  is a step toward real democracy.
